[Warning, there are spoilers ahead for the second season of The Politician.]

The Politician is back, people, and with it, the chaotic lives of college-aged kids who are trying to make a political career for their friend Payton Hobart. We left season 1 with Payton about to run for his first adult political office. The show is supposed to be camp-y and, let's face it, unrealistic, but there were moments this season that felt too far-fetched for even the Ryan Murphy universe. Here are the most outlandish moments of the season, but frankly, there are many more things that could have made it onto the list.

Alice being miffed that Payton hasn't proposed to her yet...

... when they haven't even graduated college. And let's not forget that she already ran out on her first wedding. At the ripe old age of, IDK, 22, you should be doing keg stands and failing math finals, not trying to figure out whether or not to have a baby because of a political situation (more on that later)!

The fact that there are two separate throuples in one season of a show.

I'm all for a series that promotes sexual fluidity, which this one definitely does, but the way the show used that in season 2 felt a little weird. Maybe it was an attempt to demonstrate the parallels between the younger characters and the older characters. Like, they have more in common than they originally thought! But the show spends a lot of time on two situations that are really, really similar, and serve more as plot devices than moments for character development.

Payton getting two separate girls pregnant... via a threesome.

I mean, in what world does that happen!? Like, idk what the biological odds of that are but in the midst of allllll the plot in this show it just feels absolutely insane to be dealing with two separate pregnancies in the span of two-ish episodes. Again, these people are supposed to be in college. Payton is living in a dorm. Let that sink in.

Astrid's last scene of the season being an abortion scene.

It feels like a disservice to this character to have her storyline end with an abortion and then have no resolution after that. The abortion itself isn't the problem. It makes so much sense that Astrid would choose that. But, what happened to her after the fact?! Where did she go!? In the season finale, when all Payton's friends are sitting around the table talking about the past two years, she's nowhere to be found. Justice for Astrid!

River only having two scenes.

The fact that he's there twice but isn't a consistent presence throughout the season is almost more confusing than if he hadn't been there at all. If you're going to make the River character act as Payton's conscience, that seems like a solid choice, but do it consistently! Also, more David Corenswet is great, so more David is never a bad idea.

Payton being asked to run for Vice President after approximately two years of political experience.

I'm all for young people running for office, but in this particular case, it seems relatively insane.
