6 things to know about Halle Berry's new boyfriend, Alex Da Kid
Halle Berry’s “dating hiatus” didn’t last very long. The Kingsman actress has become Instagram official with new boyfriend, Alex Da Kid.
According to E! News, the pair started dating this summer. “They have been seeing each other for about two months and met through friends in the industry,” a source told the outlet.
It seems Berry put her acting skills to use in August when she told People she was taking a relationship break.
Alex Da Kid, whose real name is Alexander Grant, is a British songwriter and producer. On Tuesday, the pair posted the same cuddly photo to social media.

So who is Berry’s new man? Here are six things to know about the Oscar winner’s latest beau:
He’s a mega producer: Alex Da Kid is one of the talents behind Eminem and Rihanna’s hit song, “Love the Way You Lie.” Aside from working with those two superstars, the producer has also been in the studio with Dr. Dre, Nicki Minaj, Diddy, and Imagine Dragons. He has his own label, KIDinaKORNER, and recently signed an agreement with Universal Music Group.
He’s younger than her: Da Kid is 16 years Berry’s junior. The producer is 35, while the actress is 51.
He’s successful: No one’s looking for a free ride here as Alex has his own notoriety. He has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards, and in 2013 and 2014, Billboard put him on their Top 40 Under 40 list.
“When I sign artists, I really put my whole entire life on hold and focus 100 percent of myself into giving them the best shot of having a career,” Da Kid told Billboard.
He’s a former soccer player: Before making the switch to music, Alex Da Kid was a semi-professional soccer player for Championship League team Bristol City in the U.K. “The football thing didn’t quite happen,” he explained in 2011.
He’s a hard worker: Alex Da Kid isn’t afraid of grinding to achieve his dreams. Once he found his passion, he wanted to ensure he had the skills and contacts to go far in the U.S.
“I did an Audio Technology degree at Thames Valley University, and I got some work experience at MTV and as an intern at Island Records, where I met someone from Metropolis Studios, who I hassled for a job,” he revealed. “I worked at Metropolis throughout my degree and a year afterwards as well, from 2003 to 2007. I loved it. I was a gofer the whole time. I didn’t have the ambition to become an engineer, I just wanted to be in the studio environment and do my own thing, focusing on the creative, music-making side. I never sat behind a console officially, but at nighttime, when nobody was there, I’d use the studios and learn stuff. I was in Metropolis 18 hours a day, and I read Sound on Sound non-stop!”
He’s low-key: According to Entertainment Tonight, the music mogul is laid back. “He is a very chill guy and soft-spoken. He’s low-key and a really nice guy. He’s very creative and serious about his music,” a source said.
This is Berry’s first public relationship since she finalized her divorce from Oliver Martinez in 2016.
