7 Beauty Trends You’ll See Everywhere This Spring
With daylight savings officially here, we’re finally starting to see signs of spring on the horizon. And just as we’re ready to trade our wool coats and boots for breezy dresses and sandals, we’re really looking forward to swapping in some new beauty looks for the season. Ahead, seven beauty trends to test-drive this spring.

Flipped-out ends
A hairstyle we’ve been seeing a lot of lately? Flipped-out ends reminiscent of Elisa Donovan’s (that’s Amber from Clueless) iconic do from the ’90s, as seen here on Hailey Bieber. Luckily, it’s also an extremely easy look to re-create at home. All you need is a flat iron and a flick of your wrist to get those ends out just so.

Mint Eyeshadow
Here’s a quick way to open up tired, puffy peepers: a wash of mint eye shadow across your lids. The calming hue is best applied using a fluffy brush to diffuse the color for that pretty watercolor effect as seen on Lily here.
Get the look: Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Single in “Aqua” ($12); Sephora Collection Classic Double Ended Shadow & Crease Brush ($16)
Hair bows
Hair accessories aren’t going anywhere. Whereas 2019 was all about barrettes, 2020 will be all about the bows. Satin, grosgrain, velvet, big or small: Do as Gwyneth does and pop one in to sweeten any ponytail.
Get the look: J.Crew Velvet Hair Tie ($20); Jennifer Behr Velvet Bow Barrette ($128)
Celestial eyeliner
Another refreshing idea to try now? A sleek sliver of bright white or silver liner to frame your eyes. We loved this subtly sparkling look on Beanie Feldstein, which her makeup artist, Katey Denno, created by dipping a tiny angled eyeliner brush into water and silver shadow.
Get the look: IT Brushes for Ulta Airbrush Angled Liner Brush #122 ($12); Make Up For Ever Artist Color Eye Shadow in “ME-116 Silver” ($17); Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in “Snow” ($22); Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in “Cuff” ($22)
Half-up bouffant
Though the eye makeup seems to be trending more futuristic this spring, the hairstyles are decidedly retro. Take a cue from Sophie Turner here and try slicking your strands back into a half-up style—the higher the better.
Neon accents
In years past we’ve seen a lot of bright lipsticks and blushes trending for spring, but 2020 is the year of bold eye makeup. (Call it the Euphoria effect.) Make like Lana Condor and try swapping your usual bronze shadow for a juicy orange instead.
Get the look: Make Up For Ever Artist Color Eye Shadow in “M-732 Orange” ($17); MAC Matte Eyeshadow in “Rule” ($17)
Sculptural styles
For ladies with natural hair, we’re seeing a lot of retro-inspired styles that are soft and sculptural. Your muse this season? Lupita Nyong’o, whose rolled updo (and white eyeliner) at the SAG Awards this year stole the show.
