Last year marked the year of self-appreciation with more movements than ever before focusing on being the best version of you, self-care and of course, we can't forget the #MeToo movement that gripped the nation.

Data research group, Euromonitor International projects that the Wellness industry is set to grow to £632 billion by 2021 - that's £1 billion more than it's already valued at.

Keeping a holistic mindset, the world of wellness is bursting at the seams with new trends and products to shift the attitude of wellness being only for fitness- lovers to a fundamental pillar of your overall health and an essential part of everyone's regime. Here are six new trends worth trying...

IV Drips

IV drips to help boost your immunity and infuse highly potent cocktails of essential vitamins and minerals into your system have long been rated by Americans with trendy areas such as LA and New York coveting the trend for sometime.

Crystal Healing

Crystals are more and more becoming part of our everyday ritual- sometimes without us even realising it. Leading beauty brands are infusing it into skincare as well as wellness and life coaches encouraging us to use them during calming and healing sessions.

Promising to restore energy levels and help you find balance, practitioners use stones as part of this holistic therapy. ‘In this digital age,  our regimes should be empowering and recharging,’ says healer Emma-Lucy Knowles who offers one-to-one sessions for £85 for 30 mins. Zolkiewicz adds, " Virtual reality will also change where and how we workout. I strongly believe that having a virtual trainer won't be a strange thing by the end of 2019".

CBD oil

CBD oil has been hanging around the beauty industry for a few years but was never legalised until last year, so 2019 will see the new super-ingredient come into play. Wellness clubs and cafes

Forget your usual gym or spa, wellness clubs are opening thick and fast and are a great way to de-stress  and an alternative to working out.

Notting Hill's Cloud Twelve opened its doors late last year and has a hefty members waiting list already. They offer everything from nutrition consultations to yoga to childcare or a massage on a bed of healing crystals- you name it, they have it.

HIIT Fusion

HIIT( high intensity interval training) workouts are no longer a workout for the super-fit.  2019 will see the renowned workout be tweaked into a new version of itself utilising existing hero workouts such as pilates, yoga and barre in a more intense HIIT-style.

Marrying the two workouts together means you get the best of both worlds and can be adjusted to your physical ability.

Water-based workouts

Water based workouts are set to make a comeback this year. It was reasonably popular in the 80s with aqua-aerobics being a go-to sport but  as more niche workouts became popular it was soon forgotten.
