It's blackberry picking season, and peach season is coming soon. U-pick blackberry season typically lasts from the middle of June through July and peach season typically lasts from July into August. Applacres

WHAT: The Applacres orchard has blackberries, peaches, and apples for picking and freshly picked in the market. The retail store has crisp apples, freshly squeezed apple cider, fresh vegetables, and Amish cinnamon breakfast rolls and breads. The inventory of fruit and produce changes from spring to winter.

Eckert's Orchard

WHAT: Throughout the season, guests can enjoy pick-your-own blackberries (June-July), peaches (June to mid-August), and apples (mid-August) in the orchards. Don't miss the BBQ, Blackberries & Bluegrass even July 20-21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy barbeque from local food trucks, Lily Pad and Hog Town Barbeque, fresh blackberry treats, and live bluegrass music.

WHAT: Evan's Orchard has u-pick and picked blackberries ($6 a pound). It also grows a variety of fruits and vegetables including 23 varieties of apples, blueberries, peaches, pumpkins, and more. The play area features massive slides, corn pits, jumping pillows, swings, duck races, pedal cars, corn hole, and more. Visit Kate’s Barnyard to pet the goats, pigs, sheep, and more. The gift store and the market has homemade jams and jellies, local honey, baked goods, candles, homemade soap, home décor and more.

WHAT: Huber's Orchard offers u-pick and picked blackberries, blueberries, and sunflowers. The family farm park features Huber's Grain Train, mountain slide, maze, pedal karts, playground and more.

WHAT: Louisville-area farmers markets will have blackberries, peaches, fruits and vegetables already picked and ready to go.
