'80s eyeshadow is back, at least according to Chanel's Paris show
Some will say it’s blue, others will say it’s green, but one thing is for sure — bold mermaid hues were the makeup rage at Chanel’s spring 2018 show.
On Tuesday, the highly anticipated show debuted the latest collection amid a pastoral landscape of manmade waterfalls and lush greenery. The designs were weatherproof, including clear plastic hats, ponchos, and over-the-knee boots, which all exquisitely allowed bright pops of makeup to vibrantly shine through.
Key makeup artist Tom Pecheux created an ’80s-inspired beauty look, which included a fully-painted mix of blue and turquoise eyeshadow, doll-like mascara, rose-toned cheeks, and shiny peachy lips.
This season’s beauty details are a lot more scene-stealing than spring-summer 2017’s, which consisted of very natural makeup on the face, soft blush, and a bold statement lip.
The makeup may be inspired by decades gone by, but it still manages to look entirely fresh.
