8on8 RTW Spring 2024
Central Saint Martins alum Gong Li returned to London Fashion Week for spring 2024 after a three-year hiatus due to the impact of COVID-19. His label 8on8 has grown considerably during the period. It received an investment from Chinese fast-fashion giant Peacebird and delivered a collaboration with the Italian luxury brand Canali.
Gong presented an elevated and refreshing take on his vision of sportswear-influenced tailoring for the new season, with a dash of glamour in the form of sequined evening jackets.

Under the theme “peak time forest” he built a wardrobe for those who are always in a rush in the concrete jungle, as well as to go on actual hiking trails.
“The collection is a combination of my love for outdoorwear and the traditional men’s category. You can see the contrast of sportswear and tailoring details as we apply jersey fabric to make tailoring pieces,” Gong said.
The hats, shorts and tank tops adorned with a new motif in the shape of an upside-down strawberry reimagined as a mountain with trees on top juxtaposed harmoniously with smart blazers, gradient knits, statement leather jackets and oversize parkas. The styling trick with watches as sleeve garters played into the peak time theme and were just as fun as the Chinese gourds repurposed as handbags.
The show also saw the debut of the brand’s global collaboration with Asics. The Japanese brand’s signature style Gel Kayano 14 was reinterpreted with three-dimensional line printing technology to re-outline design details in gradient silver tones.
