'9-1-1': Peter Krause Teases 'Honeymoon from Hell' in Premiere
Angela Bassett and Peter Krause as Athena and Bobby in '9-1-1.'
The wait is finally over: Starting fresh with a new locale at ABC and handful of emergency situations, the 118 is back in Season 7 of 9-1-1. Premiering its first episode tonight at 8 p.m. ET, star Peter Krause chatted with Parade to tease the show's grand crisis, which features Bobby and Athena (Angela Bassett) on a "honeymoon from hell."
Per the premiere's logline (and what was teased in the Season 6 finale) Athena and Bobby are finally setting off on their belated honeymoon cruise. However, "when duty calls, their vacation is put on hold." Given the couple's luck, Krause said he knew there would be “a disaster or two” to kick off the season with a bang.

According to Krause, the first three episodes “play like a film," with a significant chunk of the story arc dedicated to the cruise crisis.
"Our three episodes are an action-romantic-comedy disaster movie, basically, like an overloaded plate of nachos for your brain, lots of entertaining stuff," he told Parade. "And the journey that Athena and Bobby go on is one pretty much of coming together. I think she was afraid of there being nothing going on [during] the cruise and that they'd just be stuck with each other with nothing to talk about. Of course, it's 9-1-1, so disaster strikes and our two first responders have to team up and deal with it. Perfect honeymoon for the two of them."
Also taking place amid the cruise chaos are side storylines featuring a fighter jet trapping a civilian and an "unusual incident," which leaves a couple stuck together.

In May of last year, it was announced that 9-1-1, created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and showrunner Tim Minear, would be moving from home network Fox to ABC. The decision was largely a financial one for the network, given that the top-rated broadcast show comes with a high price tag for its star-studded cast and expensive visual effects.
"ABC is very excited to have the show and I think that once Disney bought Fox's content library, I think that it was sort of a foregone conclusion that 9-1-1 would wind up on ABC," Krause said of the shift. "They've been very happy to have it. They've been promoting it, and I think it's going to do very well. I think that we might have an even larger audience at ABC."
In addition to Krause and Bassett, the show stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi, Aisha Hinds and Ryan Guzman. Following the Season 6 finale, fans can expect the following coming up in the season: Maddie (Hewitt) and Chim's (Choi) wedding, Eddie (Guzman) and Buck's (Stark) budding relationships, as well as Karen (Tracie Thoms) and Hen's (Hinds) transition to fostering a child.
New episodes premiere Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, with next-day streaming on Hulu.
