Mineral sunscreens are said to offer the most protection because they create a barrier between your face and the sun. They use either zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, or both. These are cosmetic pigments derived from mineral deposits that create the subtle “tint” you see in a one-shade tinted sunscreen.
