Aaron Paul Earns $0 for Breaking Bad
"I don't get a piece from Netflix on Breaking Bad to be totally honest and that's insane to me."
That’s what Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul said in an impromptu interview during his recent picketing at the actors’ strike, which kind of proves his point.
Paul played Jesse on all five seasons of the celebrated American crime drama, which encompassed 62 episodes from 2008 to 2013. It averaged between one and two million viewers per episode, and received numerous awards and nominations, including 16 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Netflix has all five seasons of the show available to watch for subscribers, plus the 2019 spinoff movie starring Paul, El Camino. Yet Paul sees no money from any of it.
“I think a lot of these streamers, they know they have been getting away with not paying people a fair wage, and now it’s time to pony up. And that’s just one of the things that we’re fighting for.” Hear his full comments below.
