Abby Lee Miller Kicked Brady Farrar Off the Team During This Week's 'Dance Moms'
Dance Moms: Resurrection is all about Abby Lee Miller learning from past mistakes. That includes relying on one star student to carry her all-new team to victory. So this week, in order to void repeating this past mistake, Abby asked star dancer Brady Farrar to take a break from her competition team.
Last week, Abby threatened to eliminate one of the dancers, citing that they weren’t taking her “everyone is replaceable” motto seriously enough. But the loss of 14-year-old Brady, the show’s current breakout star, came as a major shock to both the team and to viewers.
“You’re clearly the best dancer on this team, but I’m not going to put all my eggs in one basket. I’ve made that mistake before,” Abby said to the dancers and their mothers during this week’s pyramid. “So, regardless of the talent, Brady is going on break.”
Abby admitted that, in the past, she was focused on winning that she continually placed the same kid in the center of group dances (likely referring to the original Dance Moms favorite, Maddie Ziegler). And although this continued to earn the Abby Lee Dance Company top scores and first place titles, in the end, Abby felt she created one star, instead of seven.
With Brady gone, Abby wants remaining the girls to have the chance (and the added pressure) to lead a group and see what it’s like.
Of course, the bombshell news caused a scene among the moms. Brady, however, reacted like a true professional, leading the group to victory one final time in a Queen tribute dance where he embodied the late Freddie Mercury.
Dance Moms fans know that this isn’t the first time Abby has asked a dancer to take a break from the team. This might give veteran dancers like Elliana Walmsey to make a return or perhaps introduce the youngest cast member, 9-year-old Kamryn Smith, to the group. Still, viewers were sad to see Brady go.
Some fans are already counting down until his return.
Though the preview for next week's episode show's no sign of Brady, this season is just getting started.
