All Aboard a Young Friends of Save Venice Yacht Cruise
The Grand Canal met the East End on Saturday, July 24 when the Young Friends of Save Venice hosted a celebration aboard a yacht in Sag Harbor as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the American organization dedicated to preserving the artistic heritage of the beloved Italian city.
The evening was hosted by Mercedes de Guardiola and a committee including Casey Kohlberg, Laura Day Webb, Cole Harrell, and Clare Ngai, and treated a group of 26 guests to custom cocktails by Select Aperitivo and Macchu Pisco and an Italian dinner aboard the Highlander—which you might remember as Malcolm Forbes’s private yacht and previously hosted luminaries like Prince Charles, Elizabeth Taylor, and Mick Jagger. After dinner, guests headed back to shore with music care of DJ Timo Weiland.
The celebration was one in a larger series of commemorative events being hosted by the group throughout the year as part of a global initiative, 50 Celebrations for 50 Years, which aims to raise critical funds for Save Venice’s mission during its 50th Anniversary.
