Instagram is having a tantrum over this severe acne-covering makeup tutorial

We all love a good makeup tutorial, especially the ones that are so unique they require us to pick our jaws off the ground.

And with so many different tutorials on YouTube, there is one that has social media talking. Allure reports a new acne-covering makeup tutorial is proving to be super controversial on Instagram.

Popular makeup artist and beauty guru Kadeeja Khan recently shared a makeup tutorial of herself with an honest caption: “YES I HAVE ACNE GET THE F*CK OVER IT!!! PEOPLE WITH ACNE CAN WEAR MAKEUP TOO!!”

This comes out of a response of Khan constantly being bombarded with acne-shaming comments about how she should use acne-treating medications, try birth control, and resort to other at-home remedies.

And to be completely honest, we totally appreciate and respect Khan’s caption and personal choice to create a makeup tutorial for acne-prone skin. It should be completely up to the individual on whether or not they want to cover their zits with makeup.

That means, while it’s totally okay to be proud of your flaws, it’s also totally cool to wear as much makeup as you want without any shame.

Plus, all those supposedly “helpful” recommendations really prove to be anything but helpful, as the right acne treatments really depend on the person and their skin.

While a certain product or a skin care regimen may totally work for you, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for someone else. Besides, we’ve all slapped some concealer and foundation on our zits too, so who are we to judge?
