Action Bronson’s New Balance 1906R ‘Rosewater’ Sneaker Will Release This Week
More from Footwear News
Action Bronson’s long-awaited take on the New Balance 1906R is finally slated to release this week.
The Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R “Rosewater” will cap off May after the rapper has been teasing the sneaker since late last year. In addition to the edition dropping this week, Action Bronson has also revealed “Scorpius” and “Medusa Azul” colorways for the 1906R over the course of 2024 — although it’s not yet been confirmed when those two will release.
Much like his last two New Balance collaborations, Action Bronson’s 1906R “Rosewater” arrives in a colorful array. Translucent mesh covers the upper, beneath which can be seen pink paneling and a pink tongue. Blue forms the nylon webbing that serves as both eyestays and “N” logo for the 1906R’s signature design element, while the toe cap is rendered in a silver that may be reflective. The sole unit is where the most fun is packed in, as a desert orange midsole gets reinforcements at the heel and near the toe in two shades of purple. Abzorb cushioning arrives through translucent capsules, while the outsole is split into red, brown and blue segments.
After being brought back from the archives in 2022 with the “R” suffix, the 1906R has become one of New Balance’s more popular models and the focal point of collaborations including Kith, Salehe Bembury and the forthcoming pair from Jack Harlow.
Action Bronson’s New Balance debut came last year with the 990v6 Made in USA “Baklava” and was followed later in 2023 with a “Lapis Lazuli” edition of the same model. The former was widely considered one of the best sneaker releases of 2023.
Action Bronson himself announced his New Balance 1906R “Rosewater” will release Friday, May 31. Details on where the drop will be hosted or how much the sneaker will cost have not yet been revealed. In addition to the shoes, Action Bronson said an “all kinds of fire collection of gear” will also release. This post will be updated as new information becomes available.
