Actress Annie Wersching Dead at 45
The actress is best known for her performances in the TV shows '24,' 'Timeless,' and 'Bosch.'
Actress Annie Wersching, known for roles in shows like 24, Timeless, Runaways, and Bosch, has died. She was 45.
Wersching passed away from cancer, as confirmed by her publicist via Deadline. The actress was diagnosed in 2020 but continued to work, putting on riveting performances in the TV shows Star Trek: Picard and The Rookie.
She is survived by her husband, fellow actor Stephen Full–who's appeared in Santa Clarita Diet and Dog With a Blog–and the couple's three sons, Freddie, 12, Ozzie, 9, and Archie, 4.
Full shared a statement with Deadline, saying, "There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall."
He continued, “As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell 'BYE!' until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing.“
Jon Cassar, the director and producer of 24, in which Wersching played the character Renee Walker, also shared a message following her passing, “My heart is broken in more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and a contagious smile. Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away. Annie became more than a workmate, she became a real friend to me, my family and every cast and crew member that worked with her. She’ll be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with. Annie you’ll be missed, you left your mark, and we’re all the better for it.”
After Wersching's death, friend and Marvel's Runaways co-star Ever Carradine organized a GoFundMe for her children. Created around noon on Jan. 29, as of writing, it's already raised over $47,000.
Eric Kripke, the creator of many successful shows like Supernatural, The Boys, and Timeless, in which Wersching starred as Emma Whitmore, is one of many who have donated, contributing $5,000 to the GoFundMe.
