Adam Levine Spent 2 Days Getting a Full Leg Tattoo
Adam Levine has just got another huge tattoo. The Maroon 5 frontman has become pretty well-known for his extensive body art, to the point that he was running out of space—and he has now covered up one of the sole remaining blank areas of his body with new ink.
In a video on Instagram, Levine shared footage of his most recent session in artist Bill Canales' studio, where he got a huge piece on his right leg; an epic process that took a total of 13 hours, spread across two whole days. Canales described Levine as "a true warrior to say the least and hell of a guy" for enduring the lengthy, uncomfortable tattooing time in his own Instagram video, which includes a supercut of the entire tattooing journey from start to finish.
This officially means Levine has inked up pretty much his entire body, after the singer got an enormous tattoo on his left leg earlier this year.
While many of Levine's other ink consists of smaller tattoos, his leg tattoos aren't his only large pieces. He also has his entire back covered in an elaborate black-and-grey portrait of a mermaid holding a skull in the traditional, retro sailor tattoo style.
And while he has faced ridicule for some of his ink, most notably the "California" tattoo on his stomach which he bared during his Super Bowl half-time performance, Levine clearly isn't fazed. "Tattoos wind up being this strange road map or narrative over the years," he said in an interview with People back when he was named the Sexiest Man Alive. "They always remind me of this long, weird, awesome journey life has been."
