Adam Levine's New Cornrows Are Certainly a Choice

From Men's Health

We need to talk about Adam Levine. Specifically, the choice that the singer and TV personality just made, consciously and on purpose, to partially shave his head into a mohawk, bleach the remaining hair, and then braid it into cornrows. This is a thing he did, a series of individual decisions, made willingly and of his own volition, and I would just like you to sit with that for a moment.

Levine debuted his "corn hawk," as he calls it, on his Instagram Story yesterday during a workout session. The video showed the Maroon 5 frontman doing weighted pushups with heavy chains draped over his back: an admittedly impressive feat, but all people saw were those blond braids. Gird your loins and scroll down to see the corn hawk up close.

OK, here it is:

Levine was also photographed out and about showing off his new look ("out and about" here meaning "in public," as in the place where other human beings can see you and everything), and as you might have been able to predict, the internet has some thoughts.

This isn't the first time Levine has caught the internet's attention: his shirtless performance at this year's Super Bowl halftime show launched a thousand memes, and he ended up taking to Instagram to address his "haters".

Just last month, Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz finally did the right thing and shaved off the signature dreadlocks that he'd been rocking for the last few decades. And now, as if to fulfill some kind of ancient prophecy ("there must always be one white band frontman named Adam with an ill-advised, traditionally black hairstyle at any given moment"), Levine has taken his place.
