Agatha: Darkhold Diaries Debut Trailer Lands

The witch from Wandavision is starring in her own Disney+ spinoff - and we’ve just gotten the first trailer.

Part gag reel, part behind-the-scenes featurette, the trailer sets up the show’s general premise and how this fits into the wider MCU, complete with interview soundbites from producer/head writer Jac Schaeffer.

“I started talking to Marvel about developing something else…and everything that I pitched included a story about Agatha,” says Schaeffer. Marvel boss Kevin Feige eventually gave her the greenlight.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries stars Kathryn Hahn as Agatha, a nefarious witch known for playing devious tricks and distorting reality.

She was the primary villain in Marvel’s first ever series on Disney+, 2020’s well-received Wandavision. After being banished by even more powerful witch Wanda Maximoff in that show, however, Agatha will need a new way to return to the fold.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries also features Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Ali Ahn, Sasheer Zamata and Debra Jo Rupp. It’s set to premiere on Disney+ in Autumn 2024.

Let's hope they have a better time than Marvel's Hayley Atwell on the “frustrating” Doctor Strange 2 shoot.
