Airbnb Is Launching New Virtual Experiences to Keep You Entertained (Without Making You Leave Your Living Room)
Travel may be off the table at this point in time, but Airbnb is still committed to broadening our horizons.
The tech company just launched a new way for people to connect (safely), earn money and learn a little bit while doing so. AirbnB’s new Online Experiences offer travel enthusiasts and curiosity seekers opportunities like meditating with Buddhist monks, cozying up virtually with the dogs of Chernobyl or even learning magic. How’s that for some productive distraction?
Not sure how to celebrate a friend’s birthday during this strange time? Consider a bartending expert experience with your friend group. Or, if your work team is burnt out on Slack check-ins, consider a bonding experience like a virtual bike tour.
Airbnb is also focusing its services on the elderly population. The company has partnered with the National Council on Aging, Associazione Nazionale Alpini - Sezione di Milan (a veteran group in Italy), SAGE (an organization devoted to improving the lives of older LGBT people) and Amigos de los Mayores, which combats loneliness and social isolation for the elderly in Spain. The new partnerships will allow the elderly to engage in thought-provoking programming, socialize with others and virtually travel while practicing social distancing.
All of Airbnb’s new experiences are hosted via Zoom and are available to entertain you right now.
Finally, we have something to do this weekend.
