Airline reportedly fired flight attendant after she got engaged midflight
A flight attendant’s happy moment was ruined when her employer reportedly fired her after her boyfriend’s midflight proposal.
The unnamed woman — who works for China Eastern Airlines — was let go four months after her boyfriend got down on one knee during the middle of a flight, according to Singapore news outlet Channel 8.
Apparently, the Chinese airline dismissed the newly engaged woman on the grounds that she had caused a disturbance and neglected passenger safety during the flight. The termination has sparked online outrage.
Taking to Twitter, social media users slammed the airline, calling its decision to penalize the tender moment “ridiculous,” and even threatened to boycott it.
You guys fired a flight attendant for accepting a marriage proposal. No thanks, I will fly with another airline.
