Airline's 'Adults Only' Section on Flights Sparks Debate Online

The internet is divided upon the news of the first "only adults" section on flights.

Corendon Airlines announced that it's introducing a no-kids zone for flights between Amsterdam and Cura?ao, which is "intended for travelers traveling without children and for business travelers who want to work in a quiet environment," according to its press release (translated by The Hill).

It'll be located in the front part of the plane, which consists of nine extra large seats with extra legroom, as well as 93 standard seats. It's separated from the rest of the aircraft, which typically features a total of 189 seats, according to its site. The "only adults" zone prices come at €45 per person for a regular seat, and €100 for the ones with more space. Those who are 16 and over qualify as adults.

When the news made its way to social media, many shared their strong reactions.

Someone opined that a childless section wasn't good enough, tweeting, "There can't be a 'section' on the plane. One screaming baby can be heard anywhere on that plane. Try adults only FLIGHTS."

"It’s an awful idea - the people who opt for these adults-only seats should be forced to look after my kids for the entire flight while I enjoy ‘G&T plus Pringles’ me time in a quiet zone part of the plane. Society will be better in long term ??," someone joked.

"I have long wondered why there is not an 'adults only' airline. No one likes hearing a kid on a plane," a traveler shared.

Another didn't think that kids are that big of an issue on flights, noting that some adults act even worse. "The worst experiences I’ve had flying involved other adults being d--ks/smelling like death. Babies are the least of my worries when I get on a plane," they wrote.

A Twitter user agreed, noting, "Honestly sometimes it's the children on the plane who are better behaved than the adults…"

We'll see if this idea works out when the "only adults" section becomes available on November 3.
