Al Roker Shows His Version of ‘Self Care Sunday’
Al Roker is sharing some of his self-care rituals.
In new snaps uploaded to social media on July 30, the longtime weather forecaster took fans along for his "self care Sunday," posting a collection of footage from his activities throughout the day.
To start the morning, Roker went outdoors for a walk, something he often does to help with his mobility post-knee replacement surgeries. In an Instagram video, he can be seen getting active while wearing sunglasses and a ball cap as he urged followers to do whatever is needed to "center yourself" to recharge and prepare for the week ahead.
"Hope you are having a #selfcaresunday and taking care of you!! Remember, do what you can, when you can. To all my #starttoday family, do you!" the 68-year-old wrote in the caption of the upload.
Next, the Today cohost took fans along for his second stop of the day: visiting his newly-born granddaughter, Sky Clara Laga, born to his 36-year-old daughter Courtney Roker Laga and her husband Wesley Laga on July 3.
Roker shared a single selfie-style snapshot of himself with the bundle of joy, who was sleeping peacefully on her grandfather's chest as he shot a wide-toothed smile at the camera.
"Talk about #selfcaresunday Little Sky drops my #bpm to about 65! #andjustlikethat 2 hours. Gone," he noted alongside the endearing capture.
"There is nothing more blissful than holding a grandbaby. It’s prayer/meditation times a million. ??," one fan agreed in the comment section of the post, while the father of three's wife, Deborah Roberts, dropped several red heart emojis: "??????????."
Then, the famed weatherman indulged in some traditional self-care via grooming, taking to the social sharing platform with his third post of the day: a trio of pictures of himself getting his head shaved (and thoroughly enjoying it, too).
"Getting the ol’ melon cleaned up to start the week as we continue #selfcaresunday," the caption quipped.
"Taking care of business and the chill vibe is flowing," someone noticed, while another fan said, "You had a very busy day," and many more chimed in to let Al know he was "looking good!"
Finally, the TV personality settled in to prepare a meal for his family, showcasing the food he had cooked, followed by a photo of himself with his son Nick spending some quality time together as they sat down in the backyard to eat.
"For our Sunday Supper, I coated two pork chops with @hastybake BBQ rub and pan seared them. I oven roasted Brussels Sprouts and new potatoes," he divulged before including, "The weather finally broke and was perfect for eating in the backyard with my boy, Nick," in a separate upload.
What a fulfilling way to spend a Sunday!
