Al Roker's On-Air Blunder Gets a Big Reaction from His 'Today' Co-Hosts
Al Roker
Al Roker had a hilarious moment while announcing next week's weather forecast on the Today show.
During Oct. 17's episode, the meteorologist was in the midst of explaining that the West Coast's weather would be "cooler than average" when he realized that the interactive map contained a spelling error, with the text "COODER THAN AVERAGE." Roker quipped, "Actually, it's 'cooler,' not 'cooder.'
He paused and shrugged as Today co-host Craig Melvin had a belly laugh over the gaffe, fully interrupting Roker's weather report. Hoda Kotb had a light chuckle over the situation, while Savannah Guthrie seemed puzzled by the mistake.
"Why is this so funny to me?" questioned Melvin. Roker responded, "I don't know!" He then put on a silly voice, joking, "Hey Cooder, how you doing?" He added in the voice, "30 seconds, go ahead!"
Melvin then joked off-camera, "Ah, the graphic department's angry at you," before continuing with the news of the day.

This isn't the first time Roker's had an on-air gaffe while presenting the weather. Over ten years ago, Roker thought he'd ended showing the nation's highest temperatures of the day, but was heard chatting with former Today co-anchor, Ann Curry.
During their overheard conversation in 2012, Roker joked that while presenting the weather, people must be thinking, "Hey baldie, move out of the way!" He then asked Curry, "Did you get a haircut? You look different," and complimented her hair, saying she looked "good."
