Mar. 13—The hazy smoke swirling around the Model City is coming from a wildfire on Coldwater Mountain that remains under control as of Wednesday morning, officials said.
Jackson Hodges, Anniston's public information director, said the Alabama Forestry Commission has encapsulated the area with fire breaks to control the blaze. As the fire dissipates, there will be increased smoke throughout the community over the next couple of days, Hodges said.
