May 25—The 47th annual Alabama Jubilee at Point Mallard Park had a slow start Saturday morning when stormy weather prevented a scheduled morning balloon race, but dozens of hot air balloons took off in flight about 5:30 p.m., with dozens more tethered to vehicles to give guests the experience of lifting from the ground.

Thousands were in attendance, and more were expected at the popular balloon glow scheduled for 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

In addition to the balloon attractions, there was a tractor show, a car show, an arts and crafts show, and concerts in the afternoon and evening.
