This Aladdin-Themed Café And Bar Serves Drinks Out Of A Magic Lamp
If you walked out of Aladdin wishing you could live inside a Disney movie, The Grounds café is offering the next best thing. The café transformed into The Grounds of Alexandria, a space inspired by "Agrabah, a fictitious port city of mystique and enchantment where anything is possible," and it looks like it could be part of the movie set.
You'll feel like Princess Jasmine as you walk through the gold archways and stare up at the gorgeous lanterns hanging in the outdoor space. For their launch event, the restaurant had a full barn setup complete with bales of hay and an actual camel. They even made a marketplace to mirror the one the Aladdin and Jasmine visit in the movie.
The mood wouldn't be complete without a menu makeover, so while the experience is open, The Grounds is serving magical drinks like the color-changing "Magic Carpet Ride" cocktail and the "Friend Like Me" tea. The latter is a blend of hibiscus, apple, pomegranate and rosehip and is served in a magic lamp, naturally.
As for desserts, they have dishes like the "I Wish for More...Cake," a pistachio sponge cake layered with white chocolate and orange blossom mousse and raspberry confit. The outside is a purple, shimmery, sparkly situation with a chocolate magic lamp on top so uh, yeah, we want in. The Jafar Cake is equally impressive-looking-to eat it, you crack open what looks like a mandarin orange to find a white chocolate and orange mousse with citrus and almond cake inside.
Unfortunately for most us, this café is all the way in Australia. If you do find yourself down under, the Sydney pop-up will be open through June 16; after that, the genie will poof The Grounds back into its normal clothes. Scroll down to see more photos from inside the café!
