Alan Partridge will spoof The One Show in his new BBC series
Steve Coogan's new outing as Alan Partridge will see him front a send-up of teatime telly such as The One Show.
Norfolk-based TV and radio presenter Partridge will see his career boosted when he is invited to co-host evening magazine programme This Time, described in a press release as "a heady mix of consumer affairs, current affairs, viewer interaction, highbrow interview and lightweight froth".
It continues: "This Time is the perfect shop window for a man of Alan’s gravitas and will, or should, see him finally recognised as one of the heavyweight broadcasters of his era".
The new show began shooting on Friday, and "promises the perfect fit for a man whose broadcasting style has been described as ‘equidistant between chitchat and analysis'"
The character, created by Coogan and Armando Iannucci, was last seen in a special documentary at Christmas.
