Aldi Can't Keep This Cute $5 Fall Craft in Stock
Knitting and crochet are cool again. Just take a look at Etsy or any of the amigurumi (a type of crochet centered around toys) videos on TikTok. Macrame, which is often associated with 70s-era wall hangings or planters, is also back—and it's showing up at your local Aldi.
Over on Reddit, Aldi fans are raving about the Freeform Craft Macrame Pumpkin Craft Kits and having a virtual show-and-tell.
"If you see the Aldi Macrame Pumpkin Kits, here's what they look like made by actual people," shared u/hannelore_16 in the Aldi subreddit.
The original poster (OP) included an image of a pair of handmade pumpkins in Rustic Beige and Light Gray.

"Neither my husband nor I have ever done macrame," the poster shared. "For $5/kit, we spent about [about] 3-4 hours each and ended up with pumpkins we're lovingly calling 'homegrown' to account for their not-very-pumpkin shapes."
A search result for "macrame pumpkin craft kit from Aldi" on TikTok turns up tons of videos with more than 6.8 million views. One TikToker, who posts as @danii.ridgway, recently crafted the perfect fall day.

"My favorite thing to do is watch scurry movies and do macrame," said Danii, who found the kit at Aldi (but only in one of the three colors, Peach Caramel). She watched all of the Fear Street movies during this crafting session.
“It didn’t take me that long to do this pumpkin, but it’s so, so cute," Danii swooned. "I feel like I’m going to have a little pumpkin family of different colors.”
Hopefully, she can find the remaining two colors (Rustic Beige and Light Gray).
You can get a sneak peek at the pumpkin-making process in one. Of course, the time-lapse makes it look like a cinch.

What Do the Finished Pumpkins Look Like?
Redditors heaped on praise for the OP's macrame pumpkin creation made using a craft kit from Aldi.
"They’re cute," wrote one. "They look kinda like Hershey's kisses, but you made them... every time you take them out for the season, you will have that memory."
The memory part was the ultimate perk for the crafter.
"We are quite tickled," OP wrote. "For a $5 craft kit, they turned out reasonably well. I would say it's worth it for the joy of trying a new craft as long as you are very comfortable with accepting it might be a little lumpy."
One person's lumps are another person's version of perfection.
"I think they look perfect," complimented a commenter.
"They're cute, and it sounds like y'all had a good time making them," said another person.
