Aldi Is Rolling Out Grocery Delivery Across the United States
Why bother getting out of bed to go grocery shopping? Companies like Amazon and Kroger have started grocery delivery services, and now another company is entering the delivery game. Aldi has announced that they're rolling out grocery delivery to stores across the United States.
Grocery delivery will be available in 35 states in 5,000 new ZIP codes by Thanksgiving. Aldi US CEO Jason Hart told Business Insider by the end of the year, about 80% of Aldi stores will offer delivery.
Aldi is partnering with Instacart, a delivery service company that allows customers to choose a store to shop from, as well as a time frame for their items to be delivered. Aldi tested grocery delivery in cities like Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles last year through a partnership with Instacart.

The company will also test curbside pickup in November. The service will allow customers to buy their groceries online, then come to the store to pick them up, with Aldi employees helping to load the items into their cars.

Hart told Reuters about a fifth of the purchases made through Instacart were from customers who had never shopped at Aldi before. To him, that means the test "proves that we’re reaching new customers with Instacart, customers that find it inconvenient to get to local stores or maybe exclusively shop groceries online."
To celebrate the delivery announcement, Aldi is giving first-time Instacart customers $10 off their first three Aldi orders of $35 or more with the code ALDILOVE.
