Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Burns Fox News In Spanish
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has received her fair share of criticism from Fox News, and the newly elected Congresswoman is firing back-this time in Spanish.
A recent segment on Fox News discussed a pair of Ocasio-Cortez's shoes that would be donated to an exhibit at Cornell University that showcases the articles of clothing that famous women have worn to feel empowered. What started out as a conversation commending Ocasio-Cortez for her hard work to become the youngest woman elected to Congress (as evidenced by the holes in her shoes donated to Cornell) quickly turned into harsh criticism over her social policy.
"She worked for it, she's 29 years old, she made history, and I know people who are actually in that district and they talk about how she hit the ground running and she did the work," one of Fox News panelists says. "So she deserves that place."
"Can I just add one last thing?" another panelist chimes in. "She's proposing we bring socialism into our country. Right now in Venezuela there are people who can't afford shoes, don't have shoes on their feet because of what socialism has done in their country."
Ocasio-Cortez replied with two hilarious tweets, the first one in Spanish.
Her tweet translates roughly to "No, it's not love/What you feel, it's called obsession," according to Mashable, but she sent out a second tweet for her "monolingual friends."
