Allison Williams Pulled Off a ‘Great Gatsby’ Style Fashion Heist on the 2018 SAG Awards Carpet
There was no shortage of head-turning looks on tonight’s 2018 SAG Awards red carpet, what with everyone from Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn to Halle Berry and Lupita Nyong’O on hand at tonight’s awards show, but Allison Williams took it back — way back — to a whole other era.
The Get Out star, whose film is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, could have been The Great Gatsby’s own Daisy Buchanan in a flapper-esque tiered fringe Ralph & Russo gown, Christian Louboutin heels, Fernando Jorge and Ana Khouri jewels, and a Tyler Ellis clutch.
She completed the standout look with a little help from celebrity stylist Renato Campora, who created some soft, ‘20s style newly brunette waves with a deep side part using TRESemmé Repair & Protect 7 Pre-Stylng Spray ($5), Flawess Curls Mousse ($5), and Compressed Micro-Mist Spray Hold Level 2: Smooth ($5).
“The silhouette of the dress gave me inspiration to keep it feminine and clean and show off her neck line,” he said of the hairstyle in a press release. “The look embodies a fresh and chic take on the classic 1920s waves.” We’ll say!
Topping off her glam, retro style was a deep red lip and her signature bold brows.
The overall effect was one that had us ready to kick up our heels and toast the Girls alum with (what else!?) flowing champagne.
