It's Almost Like a Party at Downton Abbey... Almost.
Castle Hill on the Crane Estate
It was a night 20 years in the making! On February 28, more than 200 guests gathered at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich, Massachusetts for the Snow Ball, a celebration hosted by conservation and preservation non-profit The Trustees, which raised $185,000 to fund projects including coastal conservation, garden restoration, and educational programs. It was the organization’s first regional fundraiser in more than two decades.
Guests, including chairs Catherine and Peter Creighton and Kathleen and Duncan McIntyre, were treated to cocktails in the grand house’s Casino Ballroom before a live auction, a seated dinner, and dancing in the mansion’s ballroom. If smartly dressed people in the stunning setting look familiar, that might be because Castle Hill on the Crane Estate is where Town & Country shot its cover story on the Downton Abbey movie just last year. And while this evening wasn’t filmed for the big screen, we dare to say it was just as glamorous as any evening at Downton.
