Amal Clooney Has Become Meghan Markle's Confidant
Despite internet conspiracy theories that the Clooneys really got invited to the royal wedding because of George's Casamigos tequila brand, People has a new report that suggests that Amal Clooney is the primary reason the two snagged an invitation, since she and Meghan Markle have become close. The outlet called Amal a confidant of Meghan Markle; the two were introduced through a mutual friend. Their relationship really took off once Markle moved to London last fall after finishing Suits.
“Meghan and Amal have known each other for a while [and share] many interests,” a source told People. “Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life. It was a very natural friendship from day one.”
Meghan also became close to Victoria Beckham after moving to England, Vanity Fair reported last year. “Victoria’s quite proud of the fact that she and Meghan have become chummy and seems to want people to know they are friends,” Vanity Fair's source said then. “Of course, if Meghan wears one of her outfits it will be great for business.”
Victoria, like Amal, got an invite to the royal wedding. Must be nice.
