Amal Clooney wears pants on the fanciest red carpet of the year
Amal Clooney is an international human rights lawyer and rules the courtroom fighting on behalf of people like Nadia Murad, Julian Assange, and the entire Republic of Armenia — but she also commands the red carpet.
On Monday night, the mother of twins walked the red carpet at the Met Gala in a custom look — including satin pants, a shiny bustier strapless top, and dramatic floral train — from up-and-coming designer Richard Quinn (he recently received the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design and even had the monarch herself in attendance at his most recent fashion show).
George Clooney accompanied his wife, who’s one of the event’s honorary co-chairs alongside Rihanna and Donatella Versace. He was cracking jokes to the press, like when asked by USA Today about what it means to be at the Oscars of fashion, he responded, “That I lose a lot.”

When questioned about what the theme — Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination — means to him, he replied that he was an altar boy so he “knows all about it.”
And when asked where the kids by the New York Times, he said, “They’re under the dress.”
