Amazon accidentally sends customer woman's urine sample instead of shower curtains
Amazon, the convenient online retailer founded in 1994 as an outlet to purchase books and CDs, has expanded to an empire that provides everything from groceries to home security systems.
One customer in Alabama, however, was provided with an item he did not order. In place of some household items he requested from the online retailer, he was shipped what appeared to be a human urine sample.
The man of Tuscumbia, Alabama, ordered a shower curtain and shower rings with free two-day shipping. Instead, he was provided with the urine sample of a private citizen.
"I got an email Thursday morning saying the package had been delivered," the anonymous man told KFOR. "I opened it. And when I reached in and pulled it out [it was] some kind of urine specimen or something like that."
He continued: "I was very surprised. My son was standing there watching me open it and he got a good laugh out of it."
The sample, shipped to the complete stranger, included the woman's name and birthday.
When the recipient of the sample contacted Amazon, he was told that "they were really sorry."
Amazon, which did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle's requests for comment, reportedly told the man that they did not want the urine sample forwarded to them. However, he reported that they will be sending the shower curtain and rings he ordered.
The man informed KFOR that he will hold onto the sample for a few days to see if he is contacted to return the sample or forward it to a different address. If he is not requested to ship it elsewhere, he will throw it out.
