Amazon announced the Invincible Season 2 Part 2 release date, coinciding with the comic series’ 21st anniversary. The last for episodes of Invincible Season 2 will air beginning March 14, 2024, on Prime Video, with a new episode each week until May 4, 2024.

Amazon made the announcement in a brief trailer on Twitter and teased a very eventful return to college for Mark following the massive cliffhanger ending at the end of Invincible Season 2 Part 1. The studio didn’t say what plans are in place for Invincible Season 3’s release date.

Invincible fans have waited four months for this news, and it didn’t exactly go over well with them.

“Y’all reallt should of just waited till the whole show was ready to be released,” one Twitter user wrote.

“We've waited longer than it took Mark to get to there for S2 and then Part 2 of S2,” another said, adding a sobbing emoji at the end of their sentence.

“So we have to wait another 2 months the 2nd half of a tv show that only has 8 episodes that took 2 years and 7 months to release and the 2nd season hasn’t even been on for 2 months gotcha,” was another reply.

The anger, while understandable, doesn’t quite get at the heart of the problem, though. Creator and producer Robert Kirkman told IGN that the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted work on the show and resulted in the long gaps between seasons. Kirkman also said a delay of this length won’t happen again, however, and said writing is in progress for season three already.

Meanwhile, if you need more Invincible to tide you over until then, you may want to give the unique Invincible Presents: Atom Eve a try, an innovative blend of visual novels and turn-based RPG battles that we enjoyed quite a lot.
