Amazon Just Launched an Affordable Fashion Brand Focused on Sustainability

Over the past few years, more and more sustainable brands have emerged on the fashion scene. But one roadblock of ethically sourced clothing is that it sometimes comes at a higher price point — and while understandably so, those who can't dish out hundreds of dollars for one shirt might have no choice but to rely on more affordable alternatives. But Amazon's newest initiative may help bridge the gap: It just launched Amazon Aware, a sustainable fashion, home, and beauty brand that's both affordable and carbon-neutral.
Amazon Aware's first fashion collection dropped today, and it includes dresses, outerwear, loungewear, and everyday basics in sizes XXS through 7X. The pieces are Climate Pledge Friendly, meaning they're certified by a third-party sustainability program, and they're all $66 or less (with most items in the $20 to $40 range). This launch is your chance to start building a sustainable wardrobe without paying a fortune.
Here are 12 pieces we'd recommend grabbing from Amazon Aware's debut collection before they sell out:

Fleece Sweatpants, $39
Utility Shirt, $41
Fit-and-Flare Dress, $44
A great place to start your shopping is with the brand's solid-colored basics. The Perfect Short-Sleeve T-Shirt comes in six colors and costs just $21. It's made from a blend of Organic Content Standard-certified materials, including cotton, modal, and elastane, with an exposed vertical seam on the back. It's designed to fit snugly on the sleeves and looser on the torso, and if you fall in love with the fabric and fit, you can also get it in tank top and long-sleeve versions.

My personal favorite piece from the collection is the $39 Pull-On Tapered Pants. Available in six colors, the bottoms look like structured pants, but they feel like sweatpants. They're made with an Ecovero Viscose blend, which is derived from renewable wood and is certified by The Higg Index (a set of tools that evaluates the social and environmental impact of a product).
The tapered pants have an elastic waistband with an adjustable drawstring, two side pockets, two back pockets, and exposed seams down the front of the legs. You can wear them with the Puff-Sleeve Sweatshirt from the collection to create a matching set, or pair them with a sweater or button-down top for a more elevated look.

If you've already started shopping for spring, the Fit-and-Flare Dress is a must-have addition from Amazon Aware. Made from Organic Content Standard-certified cotton, the tiered midi dress has short puff sleeves, a crew neckline, an exposed vertical seam on the back, and convenient side pockets. You can wear it casually with sneakers and a jean jacket, or dress it up with heeled sandals and statement earrings.

In the outerwear section, the $66 Fleece Jacket is too good to pass up. With functional buttons down the front and two side pockets, the fuzzy coat is made from Global Recycled Standard-certified polyester that comes in four colors. It's the perfect layering piece to wear over sweats, jeans, or even a dress this spring. Trust me, your wardrobe needs this versatile option.
