Amy Schumer praises a sleep coach for helping create a bedtime routine that ‘saved’ her family
Learning to sleep on a regular schedule can be tough for a toddler — and even tougher for the rest of their family, as sleepless nights pile up and everyone gets more and more exhausted. For Amy Schumer, who is mom to four-year-old Gene, years of struggles meant eventually turning to a sleep coach for help. She shared about the experience on Instagram, saying that toddler sleep consultant Jessica Berk of Awesome Little Sleepers “seriously saved” her family.
“We’re finally SLEEPING again,” Schumer wrote alongside a sweet black-and-white photo of herself and her husband Chris Fischer out on a walk. “Jessica @awesomelittlesleepers helped us create a bedtime routine for our 4 year old and now he’s going to bed 3 hours earlier than he was. We got our nights back.”
Schumer continued, “She seriously saved us. This is not an ad. Just trying to pass on the info that helped us.”
Berk reposted Schumer’s photo to her Instagram story, writing that it was “such a pleasure” to work with the famous family. Sounds like it was mutually beneficial!
According to Berk’s website, she uses a four-part method to help families all over the world “solve their sleep challenges.”
“I first realized just how important sleep was when I wasn’t getting any of it after the birth of my first daughter. After reading countless books, and taking all kinds of advice, I reached out to a sleep consultant who changed my life. I’m not exaggerating,” she writes on her site. “After months of sleeping only 2-3 hours at a time, sleeping for 8 hours in a row was life-changing!”
You can also get her digital course, “Sleep Tight Without a Fight,” if you aren’t in an area where she works.
Schumer and Fischer tied the knot back in 2018, and welcomed Gene, their only son, soon after — on May 5, 2019. Schumer has been open on social media about the ups and downs of pregnancy and motherhood, including Gene’s health issues — he was hospitalized during a bout with RSV over a year ago.
“This was the hardest week of my life,” Schumer wrote at the time.
