Amy's Omelette House brings another location to South Jersey
SOMERDALE – Amy’s Omelette House has expanded its reach in South Jersey and in the state with the purchase of a longtime diner in Camden County.
Owner Ted Kopsaftis, who owns and operates Amy’s Omelette House locations in Burlington City, Cherry Hill and Long Branch in Monmouth County, has purchased Star View Diner, which will become an Amy’s Omelette House in the coming months.
Star View Diner closed in early January. The location is 9 South White Horse Pike.
“We have purchased the Star View Diner in Somerdale and are looking forward to expanding our footprint in South Jersey,” Kopsaftis told the Courier Post. “This diner was available for sale for some time now. The owner was looking to retire after 25 successful years. We are eager to bring a fresh and delicious dining experience to the community. We believe in creating a warm and inviting space where locals can gather, indulge in mouthwatering omelettes, and create lasting memories.
“Our menu is a testament to creativity and quality, featuring a diverse selection of items made with the finest ingredients. From classic combinations to unique, innovative creations, there's something for every palate at Amy's Omelette House.”
Kopsaftis said they will be closed at their new location for a few months while they train staff and do some rebranding and remodeling.
Retirement for a longtime restaurant owner in South Jersey
Star View Diner had been owned and operated by Stefanos Kitrinos and family for more than two decades. Kitrinos has opted to retire.
“The decision to retire comes with a heavy heart,” Kitrinos said in an email to the Courier Post. “I’ve been in the restaurant business for 42 years. It takes hard work, sacrifice and dedication. People always ask me what my retirement plans are and I say: much needed rest, to spend more time with my family, my new first grandchild, and hopefully many more to come.
"Wishing Amy’s Omelette House continued success with their new location. To all who supported Star View Diner during the last 25 years, I thank you all for the wonderful memories.”
Amy’s Omelette House, which is open for breakfast and lunch, has about 200 varieties of omelettes on its menu, as well as pancakes, waffles, French toast, burgers, wraps, skillets, potato pancakes, salads, melts, sandwiches and more, according to its menu.
“We are dedicated to becoming an integral part of the Somerdale community, and we look forward to serving delicious meals with a side of hospitality,” Kopsaftis added. “We can't wait to welcome the community through our doors for an unforgettable dining experience.”
