Andie MacDowell Opens Up About Being Nude in Her New Movie and 'Feeling Good About Herself'
Andie MacDowell is a few weeks away from celebrating the big 6-0, and appears to be more confident than ever. In a recent interview with PageSix about her role in Love After Love (it hit theaters last week and is earning rave reviews), the actress gets candid about being nude in the film and why she didn't shy away from it.
“I have sex in this. I’m naked. It’s not gratuitous. It’s emotional...I felt no shame. And I knew it was important to the character,” MacDowell says. “I have never made my family ashamed of their bodies. Different from my own background. My parents, more European than I, were conservative.”

However, confidence and candor aside, there's definitely some prep work involved before shooting a movie that bares it all. To maintain her physique, MacDowell stays active, eats healthy and boasts a positive outlook. “I think about longevity and take care of myself. My cholesterol’s good. I advocate nine hours sleep. Do yoga. Hike every day. I watch my interior life and well-being. And I feel good about myself. I stay hydrated. Drink lots of water. Juice daily with fresh lemon and celery. I’m O-positive so I can and do eat meat. I stay size 4 to 6.”
It's refreshing and inspirational to see a celebrity embrace herself like this and speak openly. Hollywood could use more of it!
