If there’s one year-round staple I generally steer clear of in the heat of summer, it’s pants. But Andie MacDowell is inspiring me to give the silhouette a try this season with her breezy trousers.

While in Paris for the Cannes Film Festival, the actress was spotted looking effortlessly elegant in a pair of wide-leg pants, which Martha Stewart, Nicole Kidman, and more stars have all been wearing lately. She styled them with a romantic puff-sleeve blouse and comfy-looking loafers.

I’ve been looking for a comfortable shoe to wear instead of white sneakers, and loafers seem like the perfect option, especially in a fun metallic shade. And a puff-sleeve top is so stylish and versatile — you can wear it with skirts, trousers, and jeans.

With summer weather cranking up, you’ll want to have a pair of pants that are breathable, and one shopper called these trousers “light and airy.” They have a wide-leg silhouette that enhances airflow to your legs. I like that they have a high-waist with belt loops to accessorize, so you can dress them up or down. You can get them in seven hues for summer, including apricot, white, and teal.

MacDowell isn’t the only star who likes to wear puff-sleeves — Reese Witherspoon and Chrissy Teigen also wear the style at this time of year.
