Generate Key Takeaways

It’s Election Day, and Andy Cohen celebrated in a monumental way: by bringing his daughter Lucy, 2, to the polls with him. The Watch What Happens Live host shared the heartwarming reason why he included Lucy in this special day in a new selfie, and your heart will melt.

“I voted for Her, for her ???? ??” Cohen captioned the post, referencing Vice President Kamala Harris, who is the democratic nominee for president. Not only would it be cool for Lucy to grow up in a world with the first woman President, but Cohen is likely also referring to the fact that he is voting to protect her reproductive freedoms, health choices, and fundamental rights that Republicans under Donald Trump are threatening to take away if the former President gets re-elected.

Lucy is beaming for this historic occasion, dressed in a purple sweater with a hairbow clipping back her bangs. She has a “I’m a Future Voter” sticker on from the City of New York, which matches her dad’s “I Voted 2024” sticker on his blue Nike jacket.

“What a girl dad will do! She is so worth it!??” one person commented.

Cohen also shared a sweet video on his Instagram story on Monday, explaining to his 5-year-old son Ben why he is voting for Harris. “We’re going to vote on a new president tomorrow,” he told his son, adding that “every American has the right to vote.” “Isn’t it cool?” he asked.

Ben asked, “Which two are the names?”

“The names are Kamala Harris, whose a very smart, great lady, and a man called Donald Trump,” he responded. “Those are the two people that are running for president.”

When Cohen asked Ben who he thought he was voting for, Ben replied, “Donald Trump. Because it’s almost like Donald Duck,” he added with a laugh.

“He looks like Donald Duck,” he quipped, adding that he is voting for Harris. “She’s so smart, she’s really great. She will make a great President.”

“OK, I’m going with you,” Ben said, flying over to give his dad a huge hug. This just goes to show with a little patience and honesty, you can actually have a decent conversation with Trump supporters (if only they were all as nice as Ben!).

On his story, he also shared a photo of him and Harris, with Cohen dressed in a “Kamala for President” shirt, and a cartoon drawing of a little girl asking her dad, “Who are you voting for, Daddy?” The dad is turned to look at his daughter, saying, “You.” We’re not crying, you’re crying!

Cohen isn’t the only celebrity parent voting with his kids this election.

Jenna Dewan also took her 4-month-old daughter Rhiannon to vote today. The Rookie star shared a picture of her with her baby in her arms, wearing an “I Voted” sticker. “Just here reminding you to VOTE!! ????” she wrote in the caption.

Hailey Bieber brought her newborn baby Jack Blues to do early voting last week. “Happy Halloween! Get out there and vote ??” she wrote over a picture of Jack Blues’ little feet, with an “I Voted” sticker on his foot.

And if you haven’t voted yet, now’s your chance to get out there and bring your kids to the polls! It’s a chance for them to experience a history-making election.
