Andy Samberg's New Cooking Show Challenges Chefs To Create The Best Single Bite Of Food
Since they landed on HGTV, tiny houses have become a national phenomenon. You can now buy more than 40 different designs on Amazon or book a stay at the Hogwarts (Tiny) School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on AirBnb. Now, the tiny trend will attempt to catch the food world by storm with the new series "Biggest Little Cook-Off."
Billed as a comedic competition series, former Saturday Night Live star Andy Samberg will soon transport us to a world where the stakes are big and the plates are small. In what promises to be "an absurd showdown," pairs of top chefs will compete against one another to make the most delish bite of food.
Yes, you heard that right ladies and gentleman. This is not Mary Berry's hours-long "showstopper" challenge from The Great British Bakeoff or Tom Colicchio's high-stakes "elimination" challenge from Top Chef. This is literally one single bite of food.
In his announcement, Samberg, who also executive produces the series, teased the following situations: Can these highly skilled chefs make spaghetti and meatballs on a plate the size of a dime? Sushi on a single grain of rice?
“Anyone who knows me knows I love dinky stuff. So when this show about dinky food came my way I said, ‘I like the dinky food.' I'm excited to bring my expertise in dinky things to the dinky cooking arena," the comedian said. "And I'm also excited to bring a bag lunch, because the food is so dinky I'm for sure going to still be hungry after the shows.”
Little bites sound perfect after a weekend spent stuffing our faces with turkey, but we'll unfortunately have to wait until the spring to watch "Biggest Little Cookoff" on Quibi. The new mobile-first media technology platform doesn't launch until April 6, 2020.
