August is looking good for Angel Reese.

After an extended break for WNBA All-Star Weekend and the Paris Olympics, the Chicago Sky rookie will make her highly anticipated return to the court on Aug. 15. What’s more, before month’s end, Reebok will release her debut collection with the brand, Reebok by Angel.

“A signature collection with Reebok was always part of the vision and part of the discussions from the beginning. I began working with the Reebok design team early on in the process to ensure we created a collection that was authentic to me and truly represented my style,” Reese, who signed with Reebok in October 2023, told FN.

She continued, “The Reebok team and I kicked-off the design process last fall at LSU, where we honed in on the design inspiration and some of the classic Reebok pieces I wanted to put my unique flare on. We focused on creating something that was fem and lux, but also bold and powerful.”

Reebok described the range as a “full performance and lifestyle footwear and apparel collection” that was inspired by her “powerful feminine energy and versatile style on and off the court.”

“My mantra ‘Unapologetically Angel’ was a massive inspiration for the collection,” Reese explained. “As female athletes we deal with a lot of noise around us, and in creating this collection I wanted to lean into the power of confidence and the importance of being unapologetically myself, powerful and feminine.”

That mantra appears on the sockliners in the collection’s footwear, as well as the phrase “When They Sleep on You … Tuck Them In!” To further pull off this “Unapologetically Angel” theme, Reese employed what Reebok described as a “bold icy color palette,” including its “Always Blue” and “Silver Chrome” hues.

In terms of footwear, Reese reimagined three of the brand’s most popular shoes. The Premier Road VI, a retro style built with the brand’s comfort-focused DMX Foam, will retail for $120. The BB 4000 II, which is inspired by vintage Reebok basketball designs, will retail for $110. And the Classic Leather, an iconic running silhouette, will retail for $100.

All of the footwear will be available in adult sizing, and there will be kids’ sizing available in the BB 4000 II and Classic Leather shoes.

“I wanted to showcase my style on the court, in the tunnel and beyond, so we chose a wide range of lifestyle and performance footwear and apparel offerings to create a collection that was versatile but impactful for every occasion,” Reese said. “Immediately, I gravitated to the Premier Road VI as one of my all-time favorites. Plus putting my unique spin on Reebok classics like the BB 4000 II, a heritage basketball silhouette, and one of Reebok’s most beloved models, the Classic Leather, was a true honor.”

There are also several performance and lifestyle apparel selections in Reebok by Angel, including the Angel Lux 7/8 Bodysuit ($100), the Angel Graphic Tee ($40), the Angel Vector Track Jacket ($80), the Angel Cotton Bralette ($35), the Angel Wide Leg Pants ($70), the Angel Lux Contour Crop Top ($50) and the Angel Lux Contour Bike Short ($50).

“Angel’s dedication and hands-on collaboration throughout the collection’s design process was such a special privilege,” Reebok senior vice president of product Portia Blunt said in a statement. “Angel is inspiring women everywhere to be bold and express themselves, and this collection is a representation of that.”

The Reebok by Angel collection arrives Aug. 23 via Reebok.com, as well as at select retailers.

Although this collection is new, Reese offered a look at what’s to come during her media availability at WNBA All-Star Weekend last month, where she revealed that she will soon have a Reebok signature shoe. The athlete could not share details with FN about her shoe, but said she is “excited for what’s to come.”

However, Reese did share with FN what she looks for in an on-court shoe. “Stability, support and traction are absolutely needed for a basketball shoe,” she said. “And of course, being fashion forward, bold and stylish are non-negotiables for me.”
