Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Are Officially Both Legally Single
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are now legally single. Nearly three years after first announcing their split, the couple restored their single status on Friday, per documents obtained by The Blast.
In March, news first surfaced that the ex-couple was seeking a bifurcated judgment, which would allow them to keep working out the final details of their divorce (care of their children, shared assets, etc.) without maintaining their married status.
Per The Blast, sources close to the couple say that Pitt and Jolie negotiated the bifurcated judgment because they were ready to move forward. This move was not, as some might speculate, motivated by new relationships or impending marriages on either of their parts.
In January, rumors began swirling that Pitt and Charlize Theron were dating after The Sun wrote that the two had been set up by mutual friend Sean Penn.
"They have been casually seeing each other for nearly a month now," a source reportedly told the publication then. "They’ve been friends for some time-ironically through Sean-but things have developed.”
As for Jolie's love life, in March, The Business Times among other publications, reported that actress is dating a British billionaire who lives in London. Reports went so far to suggest that Jolie is gearing up for marriage-her fourth-to the unnamed wealthy fellow. But rumor-debunking website Gossip Con squashed those reports and stated they were untrue.
There isn't much evidence that anything is going on on the relationship front for Pitt and Jolie-their concerns seem to lie squarely with the needs of their children as of now. But one thing is for probably for certain: #Braniston is not going to happen again. Despite rumors that Pitt and his ex wife Jennifer Aniston are on again, sources close to the former couple are sure they will just remain friends.
“They broke up, and they did it because they had serious issues," a source told People in February 2018. "They’re not stupid. They remember why it didn’t work.”
