Angelina Jolie Confirms Marvel Superhero Role at Comic-Con San Diego

  • Angelina Jolie has confirmed that she is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe during an appearance at Comic-Con San Diego.

  • Jolie joins an all-star cast including Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, and Kumail Nanjiani in The Eternals.

  • The superhero movie, which is due for release on November 6, 2020, follows a group of immortals with superpowers called the Eternals and their counterparts, the Deviants.


Comic-Con San Diego is in full swing, and Marvel has taken the opportunity to make a plethora of movie announcements.

Much to the delight of fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a slew of new superhero movies is coming our way over the next few years. And following rumors that she'd be suiting up, Angelina Jolie has confirmed that she will star in The Eternals, based upon the comic book of the same name by artist Jack Kirby.

Jolie posed with her fellow cast members at Comic-Con while wearing a stunning asymmetrical black dress. The actress also wore Cartier accessories, including Juste un Clou earrings and a Cactus de Cartier ring.

It was recently rumored that Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown might also appear in The Eternals alongside Jolie, but Eleven was nowhere to be seen during Marvel's announcement.

Marvel announced a whole slate of new movies in its post-Avengers roster, including Scarlett Johansson's solo outing in Black Widow, which is due on May 1, 2020, and Natalie Portman as a female Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder, due in November 2021.


Basically, the new Marvel era appears to be celebrating women in Hollywood, and we're more than ready for our superhero, Jolie.
