Jolie and ex-husband Brad Pitt have been co-parenting their six kids since the super-famous couple called it quits in 2016. Jolie adopted her first child, Maddox, in 2002 from Cambodia. Three years later, she and Pitt adopted daughter Zahara from Ethiopia. In 2006, she gave birth to daughter Shiloh. A year later, they adopted a son, Pax, and in 2008 Jolie welcomed twins Knox and Vivienne. The celebrity mom has credited her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, now deceased, for influencing her parenting style: “I talk to her often in my mind and try to think what she might say and how she might guide me.” Bertrand died in 2007 from ovarian and breast cancer. Jolie has tried to keep her kids away from the media frenzy. Now that they’re older, they’re enjoying the spotlight. “We’re really such a unit. Nobody in my life has ever stood by me more,” she said.
