Angelita Vineyard Harvest Party crushes 10 years of success
Jul. 22—Angelita Vineyard's 10th Anniversary Harvest Party was a smashing success, according to the winery.
The day kicked off with a delightful breakfast catered by Angelita Vineyard at 7:30 a.m., where attendees mingled and learned about the beloved Blanc du Bois vines. Owner Beverly Spahn shared the heartfelt story behind Angelita Vineyard, named in honor of her late mother-in-law, Angelita Spahn, who passed away the month they planted their first vine in Spring of 2010.
The event had a fantastic mix of regulars, loyal customers, airline colleagues, and enthusiastic newcomers. Thanks to everyone's hard work, the entire vineyard was harvested in record time. Participants received the knowledge of the destemming process, pressing juice, and got hands on channeling their inner "I Love Lucy" with some grape stomping fun.
There was even a competition to name the 2024 vintage.
"Out of the many excellent suggestions, the name 'Anna-Versary' was chosen as a tribute to my mother in law whose nickname was Anna and our 10 year anniversary harvest," Spahn said.
The celebration continued throughout the day with endless Sangria, wine slushes, and the winery's signature Angelita Vineyard wines. Lunch was a hit with delicious food catered by Angela Bancroft of The Gypsy Joint BBQ (formerly Tucker Town), live music from Corsicana's own Sandy Bates, and a unique cake by Amber Wisdom of Wisdom Creations located in Rice. Every harvester went home with a special 10th Anniversary Harvest Crew T-shirt.
A huge thank you to the 30 amazing volunteers who helped harvest and everyone else who joined throughout the day to celebrate. Cheers to many more years of great wine and wonderful memories.
