Ann Taylor Loft is finally selling plus size clothing — and Chrissy Metz is already a fan
Chrissy Metz believes “pants are leg prisons,” so while she’s currently on a press tour promoting the second season premiere of This Is Us, she’s been sporting one pretty dress after another. On Monday night, she sat on the Late Night with Seth Meyers couch wearing a polka dot wrap dress from LOFT.
The actress, who was just nominated for her first Emmy, gave Loft a shout-out on her Instagram for the piece, which was likely custom considering clothes at Ann Taylor Loft only go up to sizes XL or 32.
Yet while dressing one of television’s most rapidly rising stars is a big win for a consumer brand like Loft, it also highlights the fact that the retailer doesn’t actually sell anything Metz could walk into the story and buy off the racks. So this fashion credit raises the question: Is a curvy collection in the works?
Good news: As of Monday, Loft has announced its entrance into the curvy market. LOFT Plus will be available in spring, with offerings that will include Metz’s dress. For now, curvy customers can look to the plus-size clothing subscription service Gwynnie Bee, which has a partnership with Loft for inclusion in its boxes.
Loft is no stranger to the sizing market. In fact, it offers both petite and maternity collections in addition to its straight-size range. If the success of those lines is any indication, the company can hopefully be trusted to pull off Loft Plus and offer some fabulous plus-size styles.
Aside from her dress, Metz also revealed the details of the second-most eye-popping part of the whole look — her lip color. The deep pink-red is Icon by Hourglass Cosmetics, available at Sephora for $28.

It’ll take a few months to entirely recreate Metz’s full look, but at least for now, her glam is available.
