The power pump endures. Just ask Anne Hathaway, who stepped out in three striking monochromatic looks during a whirlwind day in New York on April 29 to promote “The Idea of You.” While the outfits were all very different, the star — and stylist Erin Walsh — leaned into the classic pump as the accessory of choice.
Hathaway capped off the day at the film’s premiere, posing with her co-stars in a Versace cutout red gown, diamond earrings and scarlet pumps.
That look was a stark contrast from her two ensembles for the morning TV circuit.
First thing in morning, Hathaway stepped out at “The Today Show” in a Patou terry cloth minidress and jacket as well as a bag from the brand. She topped off the look with $15 tights from Calzedonia and white pumps, one of spring’s must-have trends. (Zendaya, the other big movie star of the moment, has been wearing white pumps almost exclusively for her “Challengers” red carpet outings.)
Next up, Hathaway went uptown for “Live with Kelly and Mark,” changing into a semi-sheer Simkhai midi dress with ribbed mesh material and ruffles at the bottom. She styled the look with a bralette underneath. Her shoe of choice? Christian Louboutin’s So Kate pump in blue.
In “The Idea of You,” Hathaway portrays Soléne, a 40-year-old single mom who meets 24-year-old boy band star Hayes Campbell (played by Nicholas Galitzine) at Coachella.
